Medical Requirements for Registration (New Students)As per the Alabama Department Public Health guidelines, and University policy ALL Students enrolling at ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½University for the first time are REQUIRED to complete and submit the following prior to registration:
The Health Clearance will then be issued to complete the registration process. NOTE: New Students cannot register for classes unless these requirements have been met and ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ have received the Medical Clearance from the TU Student Health Center. |

Laboratory ServicesA few in-house lab testing services are available, free of charge -- such as urinalysis, pregnancy tests, rapid strep, and rapid influenza tests, and all other lab services are done through samples sent to Lab Corp and reimbursed as per Student Health Insurance guidelines. *For X-rays, Ultrasounds, and other Scans, ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ are referred to local imaging centers and hospitals.

Medications and Medical SuppliesAll currently enrolled ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ are eligible to receive health services, information and counseling at the Health Center. The student is required to present a valid student ID to receive services. All medications and medical supplies dispensed at the Student Health Center are free of charge. Prescriptions are written for the medications which are not available at the Student Health Center.

Type of Medical Conditions TreatedMedical conditions commonly encountered and treated at any Primary Health Care Center:
Mental health: Frequent problems encountered include, anxiety, mild to moderate depression, stress-related disorders and eating disorders. As indicated, referrals are made to mental health professionals. Arrangements for Rabies Immunization are made through the School of Veterinary Medicine, and administered at the Student Health Center. |

Non-emergency Transportation¿Û¿Û´«Ã½University provides free non-emergency transportation to assist ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½, who are referred to the hospital, specialists, clinics and medical facilities. The Health Center staff can assist in making arrangements, and the University will provide return transportation service for ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ who have been transported.

Referral ServicesReferral services are provided, if indicated to most of the area Hospitals, Medical Specialists, Clinics and other health facilities through a referral network. The student must be seen by the medical providers at Student Health for all referrals, except for medical emergencies.
