ROTC at ┐█┐█┤ź├ŻUniversity

The Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program at ┐█┐█┤ź├ŻUniversity (ÔÇťTUÔÇŁ) has a rich and unique history. The TU ROTC program began in 1918, just after World War I, and has continued to produce military officers, in all branches of the Armed Forces, since that time. It is a prestigious program that vaunts pioneers and leaders of African-American military service.┬á

TU ROTC graduated and produced the first African-American four-star general, General Daniel ÔÇťChappieÔÇŁ James. ┬áIts Professors of Military Science have included legendary military leaders, including General Benjamin O. Davis, Sr., the first African-American General Officer in the military, and General Benjamin O. Davis, Jr., commander of the ┐█┐█┤ź├ŻAirmen, and the first African-American General Officer in the Air Force. ┬á

Woven into TU ROTC are leadership and character development opportunities that benefit graduates for life. ┬áThe TU ROTC program, like ┐█┐█┤ź├ŻUniversity itself, is designed to instill lifelong traits of integrity, devotion to duty, self-discipline and self-reliance. ┬á

Substantial scholarships are available to selected ┐█┐█┤ź├Ż. These scholarships may include tuition, books, fees and a monthly stipend. More information about the TU ROTC program can be found at┬áMilitary Science.
