Bike Patrol

¿Û¿Û´«Ã½University Police Department

The Bike Patrol initiative recently launched by our Campus Police Department is a proactive step toward enhancing safety, visibility, and community engagement across the college grounds. Officers on bike patrol are able to navigate the campus more efficiently than those in vehicles, especially in areas with heavy foot traffic or limited vehicle access. This mobility allows them to respond more quickly to incidents, monitor high-traffic zones, and maintain a consistent presence that deters potential misconduct. The patrols are scheduled throughout the day and evening hours to ensure comprehensive coverage and to foster a sense of security among ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½, faculty, and staff.

Beyond safety, the Bike Patrol also plays a key role in building stronger relationships between the campus community and law enforcement. Officers are more approachable on bikes, making it easier for ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ to ask questions, report concerns, or simply engage in friendly conversation. This increased interaction helps break down barriers and promotes a culture of trust and cooperation. The ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½University Campus Police Department is committed to not only protecting the community but also being an active and visible part of it, and the Bike Patrol is a meaningful step in that direction.
